What’s this about? Is there some new fan project going on or something?

im still not over them very Very prominently whitewashing roxy in that little promotional art like. roxys pq sprite is literally my favorite kid sprite its so cute. they could have just Not referenced ANY of the pq sprites, since, the pq sprites are technically noncanon hc based things anyway, and nobody would have bat an eye. but them referencing pq for almost all the alphas and then specifically choosing to slim jane and whitewash roxy? its just weird. it really feels like you would have to go out of your way to do that

#edit: if this is about that cafe thing I don't see the correlation with pesterquest #the character designs are different cause they're different artists and I feel like if it was meant to parallel pesterquest #then it would have been more noticeable #like Dave would have bigger eyebrows and John neater hair and Jade messier hair and Sollux a longer face and Karkat a shorter frame etc etc #I think it's just a separate thing where the art is based on the comic appearance of the characters more than their pesterquest sprites #would I have liked them to keep the pesterquest influence? Yeah #but the fact that they didn't isn't a big deal to me because in the end every interpretation is different #also PQ's Sollux sprite is ugly there I said it-#the slimwashing of Jane is a valid concern tho but it could be argued that the artists just didn't know the context #this was a long string of edited tags why didn't I just make a new reblog
